Peripheral Neuropathy

What is Peripheral Neuropathy?

Peripheral neuropathy is a condition that results from damage to the peripheral nervous system, the network of nerves that connects your brain and spinal cord to the rest of your body.

These nerves help control movement, sensation, and even automatic functions like circulation and digestion.

Over time, reduced blood flow to the nerves can cause them to degenerate. When this happens, the nerves may send incorrect signals to the brain, leading to symptoms such as burning, tingling, numbness, or sharp, shooting pain.

As nerve damage worsens, it can lead to loss of sensation, especially in the feet, which increases the risk of falls. In the hands, it may cause weakened grip strength, making it difficult to hold or carry objects.

Treating Peripheral Neuropathy

At Rosedale Acupuncture in Austin, we focus on restoring nerve health naturally by improving circulation, reducing inflammation, and encouraging the body’s healing processes.

Acupuncture stimulates specific points in the body to:

• Increase blood flow to damaged nerves
• Reduce inflammation that can restrict circulation
• Support nerve repair and regeneration over time

We also incorporate electroacupuncture and ATP Resonance BioTherapy, a non-invasive treatment that uses low-level electrical currents to support cellular healing and improve nerve function.

Together, these therapies help reduce symptoms, restore sensation, and prevent further degeneration, so you can regain mobility, confidence, and quality of life.
